Inspire 3, my experience
Working and owning an Inspire 3 for several months and using it for client work, I am impressed and disappointed by this camera that flies.
The videos are, without a doubt, first-class and have depth, quality and sharpness, and I love the video this drone produces.
I like to use ProRES RAW; the images' size is practical and handy when filming in 8K 75FPS! However, I do my post work in Davinci Resolve, so I must use an additional workflow to import videos. This post concerns something other than Davinci so I will sidestep this part.
The Inspire 3, which I will refer to as ‘I3’, needs an additional purchase for ProRES Raw, which you must, in turn, activate within the I3, and this was a challenge. So, you need the DJI Assist application, but not anyone; you need the particular I3 version and then plug it into the USB-C connection. Good luck with that, primarily if you use a Mac, like I do!
To cut a long story short, the I3 have 3 USB-C ports, and the one you want is underneath and hidden’ by the gimbal connection. Yes, this took me an hour, if not more, to work out!!!
The drone’s noise bothers me; it’s loud, making it unusable for weddings, etc. It makes everyone look around, which will cause an issue with the resident photographer.
I usually use our Mavic 3 Pro, hovering a few feet off the ground and panning to follow the bride.
The I3, because the camera can move without the drone, is such an advantage it allows the drone to be a little quieter, just not enough.
We found the same issue when working with horses, and the noise made the horses nervous.
This drone is fantastic when we have used the I3 for landscapes, buildings, or anything not living!
